Special Weather Statement issued November 9 at 2:59AM CST by NWS Bismarck NDAlert
A strong cold front will move from north to south today, reaching
southern North Dakota this evening. In doing so, rain, along with
a wintry mix of sleet, snow, and light freezing rain can be expected
through this afternoon, along and east of the Missouri River. Snowfall
accumulations of between 1 and 2 inches are forecast today, which
includes cities such as Crosby, Bowbells, Mohall, Minot and Towner.
For this evening and tonight, a period of light freezing rain is
possible over south central North Dakota, followed by snow spreading
from west to east late tonight. The highest snowfall accumulations
will favor southwest North Dakota where 3 to 4 inches of snow can
be expected through Sunday morning. This would include the cities
of Beach, Dickinson, Mott, Hettinger, and Bowman. Elsewhere across
southern North Dakota, expect snowfall accumulations of between 1
and 2 inches through Sunday morning.
Motorists should be prepared for deteriorating conditions developing
from north to south today through Sunday morning. Allow extra time
for travel. Be prepared for slippery covered roads.
