Winter Weather Advisory issued February 12 at 3:05AM EST expiring February 13 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Taunton MA


Onset snow will transition to a wintry mix of mostly sleet then
to freezing rain across interior Southern New England beginning
between noon and 3 pm Today, ending early to mid morning
Wednesday. Along the coast, will see snow transition to sleet
before mixing with and changing over to rain. Biggest concern are
the impacts for the late day/evening commute. Hazardous travel
conditions with slick roadways, especially if left untreated, are
expected. Also reductions in visibility with any snow or sleet,
especially as snowfall rates of around an inch an hour are
forecast shortly after the onset.
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of
an inch expected.

* WHERE...Tolland CT, Hartford CT and Windham CT Counties. This
also includes the cities and towns of Hartford, Windsor Locks,
Union, Vernon, Putnam, and Willimantic.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening


A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
