High Wind Watch

High Wind Watch issued February 11 at 1:19PM PST expiring February 14 at 10:00AM PST by NWS San Francisco CA


The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a High
Wind Watch, which is in effect from Tuesday evening through
Thursday morning.

* WINDS...Sustained south to southeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45
to 65 mph. Peak winds gusts over the most wind prone locations
over higher terrain and along the coast could exceed 70 mph.

* TIMING...10pm Tuesday evening through 10am Thursday morning. The
strongest winds are anticipated through Wednesday morning and
early afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.


A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph...or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
