Dense Fog Advisory

06/14/2018 3:43 AM through 06/14/2018 9:00 AM

Dense Fog Advisory issued June 14 at 3:43AM CDT expiring June 14 at 9:00AM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL

The combination of a very moist environment from earlier
rainfall, light winds, and partial clearing of the sky has created
conditions favorable for fog development. Dense fog has already
developed across portions of the Advisory area, and is expected to
become more widespread over the next few hours. Motorists should
use extra caution on their morning commute as visibilities may
drop quickly over a short distance. This fog should dissipate by
mid morning.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Dense Fog
Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning.

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.

* TIMING...Until 9 AM CDT this morning.

* IMPACTS...Limited visibilities will make travel very difficult
at times. Be on the lookout for sudden changes in visibility.
The patchy nature of the fog will drop visibilities quickly in a
short distance. In addition, visibilities may become severely
restricted near river, lakes, bridges, and low lying areas.

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
