Winter Storm Warning

Winter Storm Warning issued November 14 at 2:48PM PST expiring November 17 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Reno NV

Alert

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow and high winds expected. Plan on difficult
travel conditions. Expect damage to trees and power lines as
well. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet expected above
7500-8000 feet with localized amounts up to 4 feet along the
Sierra Crest. Accumulations below 7500 feet are more uncertain
and depend on how fast snow levels fall Thursday, but 4 or more
inches are possible.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area...including Donner Pass, Mount
Rose Summit, and Echo Summit.

* WHEN...From 4 PM Wednesday to 4 AM PST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in
visibility at times. High winds will create difficult driving
conditions and dangerous boating conditions on Lake Tahoe.

Instructions

Avoid travel if possible, you could be stuck in your vehicle for
many hours. If you must travel, prepare for long delays and carry
an emergency kit with extra food, water and clothing. If you stay
home, have a backup plan in case of power outages. The latest
road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
