Lake Wind Advisory issued July 17 at 3:21AM PDT expiring July 17 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV

Alert

* Where: All area lakes in Western Nevada, Northeast California,
and the Eastern Sierra. This includes Tahoe, Pyramid,
Lahontan, Washoe, and Bridgeport.

* Winds: Light winds in the morning quickly becoming southwest to
west 10 to 20 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph after 10 AM. Strong
gusty winds persisting into the evening, with lighter winds
returning after sunset.

* Wave Heights on Tahoe and Pyramid: Afternoon and early
evening wave heights 2 to 3 feet, especially on east and
northeast sections of the lakes.

* Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
improve. Be prepared for a sudden increase in wind mid to
late morning Monday.

Instructions

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.

Greater Lake Tahoe Area; Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties; Greater Lake Tahoe Area; Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake; Mono; Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area
